Proposed – Amendment bill to Land Titles (Strata) Act.

Purpose -

  1. Address the role of the Strata Titles Board,
  2. Balance the interest of property owners and
  3. Streamline the collective sale process

Details -

2 years restriction period after a failed en-bloc attempt

  • Within these 2 years, 1st re-attempt require at least 50% approval to convene Extraordinary General Meeting (EOGM)
  • Subsequent re-attempts within the 2-year period will require at least 80%

Strata Titles Board

  • empowered to issue a “stop order” to cease mediation – faster for owners to proceed to Court
  • maximum time period spent on mediation will be set at 60 days

Sales Committee

  • Sales Committee members to declare the “extent of ownership”

Preview opening is set for 27th April 2010 … it’s this coming Tuesday ( … well, about time!!!)

Hotel rooms, shops, part of convention and exhibition will be open.

The Marina Bay Sands Integrated Resort features three 55 storey hotel towers, connected by a Sky Terrace, named Sands SkyPark.

The SkyPark holds the world’s longest elevated swimming pool, with a 474-foot vanishing edge. The pools are elevated 975 feet above the ground … hmm, any transparent bottom?

In front of the hotel towers, there’s a Theatre Block, a Convention & Exhibition Block, a Casino Block

Grand opening is scheduled for 23rd June 2010 (Wednesday).
